A U shaped classroom seating chart template is a common request when rows feel too rigid and pods feel too noisy. The U puts the open end toward the board so every student can see you and each other.
When to choose a U
- Socratic discussion, read-alouds, and mini-lessons where eye contact matters
- Talkative classes where you want visibility more than isolation
- Rooms with enough clearance in the center for you to walk the U
How to set it up here
- Choose U-shape in the layout menu (preselected in the embed above).
- Paste your roster; mark front seats (bottom of the U) and chatty keep-apart rules.
- Shuffle, drag to fine-tune corners, Print → Save as PDF.
